The ending
of “Yoqui Delgado wants to kick your ass”
As the book “yoqui Delgado
wants to kick your ass” winds down and comes to a close it leaves us wondering
what’s next for paddy. Yoqui got the last laugh here and I feel like she didn’t
deserve it. Piddy having to endure all of that constant bullying is not okay
and was not addressed as it should be. The bullying that piddy faced is not
only unnecessary it was brutal and horrific to hear about because the fact that
one person can do all of that to another person only for that person to be
forced to move schools because the adults in this book did not do a well enough
job protecting piddy and saving her from yoqui. The adults tried to step in and
control the situation but clearly it wasn’t a success if all of the constant
bullying continued to go on even though the adults attempted to control the
situation. Yoqui clearly has many issues with either herself or her home life
that need to be addressed so she doesn’t feel this way or act this way. The
fact that she still got her way in this situation explains a lot, it explains
that sometimes bullies get their way like yoqui who beat up piddy and had her
move schools. She got her way without having to change her methods. When piddy
moves schools she falls into a group of people that never get the help they
need because when there is conflict they run, she will face another bully later
on in life and because she has never properly contained one bully it might be
more difficult to deal with another. The way the book ended left me with some
questions but ultimately the situation in my eyes was never fully taken care
of.
Exactly. Bad things happen in everyones life- things that sometimes a person just is not able to just- make disappear. I feel bad for Piddy but- I am conflicted about her decision to leave. Im not sure its the best thing for her- maybe- but I could see an argument otherwise.
ReplyDeleteBlake - I agree that the situation seemed unresolved.
